• SYNOPSIS

    Cuba´s mandatory military service (SMO) is one of the most openly prescriptive and repressive systems of the Cuban political system. This type of recruitment, which obliges citizens to spend a minimum of one year of their lives in a military unit, whether after finishing 12th grade or turning 18, has serious effects on families, society and the person recruited.
